Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday as some people prefer to call it has been celebrated for over 400 years originally it was celebrated for Christians to visit their ‘Mother’ Church. Domestic servants were given the day off to return to their home town and worship their families. On their way home they would pick wild flowers to place in Church or give to their mums. It falls every year three weeks before Easter day. This special day is a day to show your appreciation to your Mum, Nan or any motherly figure.
