Highlights of 2016

While adding some new photos to my website I realised I haven’t written a blog for many months.

I have now been creating flowers for every occasion for over a year. I enjoy every minute of my job whether I am meeting with excited brides or grieving families. 2016 surpassed all my expectations. I was privileged to meet with many couples tying the knot to discuss every detail of their wedding, to ensure their flowers were perfect. Roses were a particular favourite last year, as were country style flowers.

Funeral Flowers are a real favourite for me to create. I met with many families in the comfort of their homes to help choose the flowers they wanted to leave as a final gift for their loved one. One tribute travelled to France to be placed on a war grave to commemorate what would have been his 100th birthday.

I used just chrysanthemums, carnations and greenery as these flowers transport well and can tolerate the warmer temperatures.

I was in Queen’s square at th20161203_100216_HDR[1]e beginning of December at Clevedon Pride’s Christmas fayre. I met with many customers discussing their Christmas wish list, from table arrangements, wreaths for front doors, arrangements for graves or hand tied flowers as gifts. It was a dry chilly day but very well supported.

I held two Christmas workshops where people made a wreath from scratch. I demonstrated how to wire Moss onto a metal frame, then add six different types of greenery, berries, fir cones and cinnamon sticks. The results were amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evenings with a glass of mulled wine and festive nibbles.
