I can’t believe at the end of this month we are a third of the way through 2016!! Time flies when you are having fun!!
It’s been a busy few months with Valentine’s day, Mother’s day and everything in between and has kept me busy in my garden workshop while sun has shone, the rain has poured and the wind has whistled!
Valentine’s Day saw my workshop adorned with Red Roses. I offered a choice of a single Red Rose in cellophane or brown paper, six or a dozen Red Roses in cellophane, brown paper or a presentation box which I will be using throughout the year. Many people rang and requested particular flowers that were special to their loved one making their gift more personalised. There were also a few orders of all white which looked stunning. I incorporated white Roses, Eustoma, Gerbera, Freesia and lush dark green foliage into had tied bunches.
Mother’s day was an array of mostly pink, mauve, purple and cream flowers. It was a pleasure to create baskets, hand-tied bunches and arrangements of every size to suit everyone’s budget.
Traditionally spring is an abundance of yellow daffodils and every shade of tulip. However, at my Suppliers, in stock at the moment are a vast array of beautiful pastel shaded flowers such as; Lilac, Hyacinths, Iris, Salix (Pussy willow), Forget-me-nots, Anenome and Contorted willow to name but a few. They are very knowledgeable and can usually source, and obtain most variety and shade of flower.
Last month, I did an Easter flower workshop with 6 people who created a colourful trug basket to take home with them and display on their dining table, coffee table, windowsill or sideboard. We had a great evening with nibbles and drinks and are planning the next one – although it might have to be a no-celebration one as most of the celebrations are over for the next few months at least!
If you’d like to do a flower workshop with your friends, please give me a ring to discuss!
